It looks like we’re close to the end, could possibly be Saturday,
so hurry on down for that final bargain.
Things have been selling so well that NEXT WEEK COULD BE OUR LAST.
What’s left: Plenty of HOG BRUSHES, GRIFFIN FAST DRYING OIL TUBES , there’s quite a bit of paint, oil, acrylic & watercolour – though the watercolour is looking thin.
Not many watercolour pads left, just Arches HP & Bockingford 250lb NOT in loose sheets – both excellent papers
Loads of Daler Graduate sketch pads A4 (20 sheets, soft cover – ideal for school or college students) only 90p each
Still worth coming in – plenty a bargain to be had.
On the craft side , there’s a fair few Papermania Urban Stamps, lots of Kanban toppers, plenty of loose sheets, funky foam and felt. There’s still enough to call in and have a good rummage round.
We will be looking to dispose of the shop fittings too. Call us or call in if you are interested, otherwise it’s ebay.
A for Art, Chesterfield
Chesterfield’s only independent art & craft shop, A for Art on Cavendish Street, is closing down. Owners, Diana & Rod Spurrier, are retiring after nearly 15 years running the business.
“We have been planning our retirement for some time. Unfortunately we have been unable to find a buyer and have now decided to call it a day.
Trading in the months running up to Christmas has not been on the level of previous years, due to the rise of internet shopping and the arrival of a chain store in our sector at a retail park near the town centre. Another multiple is arriving at a retail park close by, later in the year.
We feel these factors, combined with the economic outlook and the difficulty in obtaining finance from banks, have discouraged potential buyers.
We have enjoyed our time at the shop. Every artist and crafter has a tale to tell and it has been enormously satisfying to follow the progress of our many creative customers. We would like to thank them for their business and wish them all continued success in their artistic endeavours.”
The A for Art closing down sale starts on Saturday 12th January 2013 and will run until all stock is sold off.
